Varux Chair
Inspired by Scandinavian simplicity, this chair balances comfort with upright posture. Clear, functional design shapes an approachable, ergonomic seating experience.
Ideas around proportion, structure, and material from Scandinavian furniture traditions guided the work. This informed the balance between lounge-style comfort and upright dining/office ergonomics.
Proportions, angles, and structural relationships were explored to define the chair’s form. This process shaped the layout of the seat and backrest and informed construction decisions.
Careful measuring, cutting, and joinery ensured tight tolerances throughout the frame. Plywood layers were bent and shaped to create smooth curves for the seat and backrest.
The final chair blends the lounge-inspired seat and backrest with upright ergonomics in a resolved, refined form. Leather on the seat and backrest adds a premium touch where it matters most.
